Consultation For Providers

Thrive now offers consultation services for fellow providers who use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and/or Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)!

Many therapists don’t have an option for ongoing consultation after completing training in Evidence-Based Psychotherapies (EBPs), including both CPT and PE. That’s where Thrive Therapy can help: by providing ongoing consultation designed specifically for those who’ve completed both the official training for CPT and/or PE, and their two completed cases under consultation.

Ongoing consultation will support YOU as you support your patients using the most effective PTSD treatments to date and give you a sense of confidence, competence, and mastery in delivering these therapies. Research shows that clinicians receiving consultations consistently get better results with their patients.

CPT and PE consultations will be offered in separate sessions to ensure your specific needs are met.

Thrive currently has three different consultation options, listed below. If you or your practice/agency is looking for something not listed below, please contact me to discuss customization for your needs.

Your consultation leaders:

Jenn Simpson, LISW-S, began her career treating PTSD in 2007 and has completed training in both CPT and PE. While working for a clinic that only provided EBPs for PTSD, she discovered her passion: providing effective treatments to those seeking healing.

Jenn’s background includes more than a decade with the Cincinnati VAMC, where she worked under Kate Chard, Ph.D., a co-author of the CPT manual. Under this excellent supervision, she took advantage of comprehensive training and weekly consultation for CPT/PE, gaining experience with both protocols and learning to maintain fidelity to both therapies. This ensured that patients receive effective treatments and maximum benefit while minimizing the risk of “therapist drift” while delivering EBPs.

Training and Experience in Consulting

Jenn began consulting for CPT in 2018 after launching Thrive Therapy, her private practice.

In 2019, she completed the Prolonged Exposure Consultant Training Program through Emory University, where she worked with some of the best and brightest in the PTSD world and became certified as a PE Consultant.

We look forward to working with you and providing the support needed to implement CPT and/or PE into your clinical practice.

Jenn Simpson is a Trauma Therapist that also specializes in Prolonged Exposure Therapy Consultation.
Ben is trained as a Cognitive Processing Therapy Consultant in the United States.

Ben was fortunate to receive his initial training and consultation in CPT from the therapy's developer, Dr. Patricia Resick, while a trainee at the National Center for PTSD in Boston.

He has been providing CPT for over 10 years now to individuals and groups in outpatient and residential settings.

Additionally, Ben has published over a half dozen peer reviewed articles on CPT and how to enhance its effectiveness.
